the one with the journal

Hey, people!

I have been favoring my journal more than this blog, so I'm sorry. I wrote so much that there are times I tried to publish some of it here, but I'm afraid that it will lost its authenticity. Silly, I know, but that's what I believe. The reason I said so is because I've done that in the past. You know, I wrote things somewhere else, typed and saved it in my laptop but by the time I'm typing it, I started to add or get rid of things from the original writing, by the time I finished, it doesn't feel as good as the time I wrote it. So, I guess all those things in the journal will only be available for my eyes only, as much as I want to share it with you guys.

My birthday is coming. I can't believe it. I'll be back, I promise.

Rag & bone Roll Neck Cotton-Blend sweater

Zac Efron and Nick Jonas spotted wearing the same cream-colored roll neck sweater. I'm with Nick on this one. As much as I adore Zac (and how badly I wished that I was the sweater), it doesn't fit well on him and for the love of Anna, what's with the denim shorts? I love the shades (Persol 714) though.

“Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.” - Elaine, age 5

“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Brad Pitt.” - Chris, age 7

“Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.” - Mary Ann, age 4

“I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.” - Lauren, age 4

“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.” - Rebecca, age 8

“When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.” - Karen, age 7

“You really shouldn't say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.” - Jessica, age 8

p.s. I don't know if this legit since I saw this on tumblr and there's no original source stated whatsoever, but to hell with it, this is adorable. I could picture the kids saying all these and my heart goes 'aww'.

the one with the recapitulation

Hey, people!

I guess it is not too late for me to welcome 2011. Happy new year! Also, happy Thaipusam for those who are celebrating.

I know, I've been abandoning this blog, I'm sorry. A lot of stuff has happened and I just can't write anything. Well, how about a quick recapitulation on everything?

Last year has been a very hectic year for me and my TESL fellows. We're doing our teaching practicum for three months. Yes, me. Teaching. I know, right? Crazy stuff. I can't believe I was a trainee teacher at a government school. It was a three-month total shit storm. Shitty school, shitty rental place (The good thing is that I'm staying alone. But still, it was a shitty place to live in). The good thing about this teaching practicum is that it made me realized that I'm not up for the job. I'll never be a teacher. Oh well, for the time being. Let me rephrase that. I don't want to be a teacher.

Other than that, there has been a lot of ups and downs, but I'm not complaining. It's life, shit happens. Are you going to give up every time shit happens? No. Are you going to put up with it? Absolutely no. Are you going to try to make things better for yourself? Yes. How? Well, that depends on you and you alone. Sure, sometimes we made a wrong turn, but that's life for you. Life is about trying. Whether you fail or succeed, there's a whole another story.

Ha, so much for a recap. I'll be back, I promise.
